> English : Pollutec Horizons closed its doors on 2nd December. Although it suffered a slight fall in visitor numbers (a total of 29,680, down 10% on 2009), it strongly confirmed its position as a solutions show case, as the French Minister of the Environment, Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet stressed, with every visitor having the opportunity to learn about the themes lying, “at the heart of the evolution towards a lower carbon footprint society”.
Pollutec Horizons 2011 established itself as the cleantech, the innovation and the sourcing show for environment questions, confirming its role as a guide for professionals who have more and more specific expectations.
Evidence for this comes from the success of the new areas that were launched this year –ecological engineering and biodiversity, satellite applications, the sustainable town, social responsibility – and the attendance figures for the cleantech and green business meetings and the various forums, with certain talks even having to turn people away.
A high proportion of visitors to the show came from key functions (eg.: sustainable development director), demonstrating how such professions are increasingly emerging within companies and organizations.
